Leading from the back also requires humility. It means recognizing that leadership isn’t about being in the spotlight but about supporting others to reach their potential. Leaders who connect in this way cultivate stronger relationships, inspiring loyalty and collaboration.


In contrast, leaders who try to control every aspect risk stifling creativity and demotivating their teams. Leadership is about connection, not control—allowing others to step up, grow, and thrive. Leading from the back ultimately creates more sustainable, high-performing teams.
